DAY TWO  Essex Junction, VT to Queechee, VT (105 miles)

Another Century to bike today! The fog looms overhead as a line forms for the row of port-o-johns at the first pit stop. (curse the morning diuretics - coffee and tea)
After the first hour or two of riding, the fog lifted and off comes the long-sleeve shirt. After biking in the foggy SF mornings, I am used to having an extra layer to wear just for the morning start and then the foggy return over the Golden Gate Bridge. Here, the sleeves are necessary for only the first fifteen miles, then it's warm enough to go

with just short sleeves for the rest of the day.
By lunch I still feel good. I've never done back-to-back Century Rides and was concerned about finishing. Not necessarily crossing the line, but just how taxed I would be once I did cross the line. Once again, the mystery hills came into play.   Fortunately, I was able to find another biker with a similar pace. The rest of the ride went smoothly with no traffic to deal with. Exhaustion set in after the 214th mile. Half of this Ride is already completed.
